Play @ Lower Drayton Farm
On their 750 acre working farm in Staffordshire, the Bower family have created a huge new indoor and outdoor farm attraction, with a focus on having fun while learning about farming...
Adventure indoors…
Kids can explore the 900sqm indoor play barn – a space dedicated to action and adventure, featuring the longest racing Astro slide in the UK, gravity drop slides, traverse climbing wall and much more. A baby area dedicated to littlies under 1 and a toddler play space packed with imaginative role play opportunities and lots of climbing, sliding, spinning fun for under-5s with energy to burn ensures hours of fun for all ages.
…and Out!
Outdoors, the adventure continues with activities that include racing zipwires, bouncy pillows, sand and water play. Animal lovers will delight in the chance to pet friendly rabbits and Guinea Pigs, and get up close with goats, pigs, cattle and other farmyard favourites.
All with a focus on farming!
Farming is at the heart of the PLAY@ concept – all the play equipment is inspired by the farm and its animals, and educating the public about the ‘farm to fork’ journey is particularly important – with our legendary farm trailer rides (weather dependent) offering visitors an insight into life on a working farm.
We’re also proud to sell the produce from our fields in our new Honeypots café, named after ancient woodland on the farm. Visitors can tuck into Aberdeen Angus beef and home bred lamb burgers - with a focus on sustainable, local British traceable, fresh food you can’t get much more local than food from the farm you’re visiting!
To celebrate British Food Fortnight, visitors can pick their own bag of spuds to enjoy at home and take past in a harvest-themed quiz, while throughout October the farm will play host to a PYO Pumpkins event.
NFYFC is a rural youth organisation for those who have a love for agriculture and rural life. YFCs provide their members with opportunities to develop life skills, work with their local communities, have their voice heard, take part in a varied programme and provide a peer support and friendship network.
Glorious Game aims to help increase the appeal of this hugely underappreciated but delicious, lean and nutritious meat. Inspired by her upbringing in the Angus Glens, and her Grandmother, who was a wonderful cook, Sophie has always been obsessed with food but is only too aware that not everyone shares her passion for game, which is often over-looked, or disliked for no good reason.
