Q Guild of Butchers
The Q Guild has been in existence since the early 1990’s when the High Street was full of butchers. The Guild was formed to encourage quality Butchers to meet, share ideas and so develop their businesses. Some members have been involved from the very start and have benefited hugely from the best practice, sharing and implementing of these ideas. They are leading experts in the field of butchery and also achieve product awards on a regular basis. Offering quality produce, a passion for excellence and craft butchery skills, they are some of the best butchers in the country.
All members must have achieved a 4* or 5* hygiene rating and offer consumers a safe and hygienic place to shop, especially in these Covid times. They all offer a range of quality meat and meat products, some produced in house or locally sourced from reliable trade partners. Many have extended their ranges to include vegetable side dishes and even vegetarian meal options which help those families who are shopping for a range of diets and lifestyles. During these recent times they have also extended their customer services to include deliveries, Drive-thru or click and collect options. Showing how flexible they can be with their products and services, whilst also adapting to weather and local conditions.
When out shopping in the high street, local garden centres or farm shops lookout for the green and gold Q sign, then you’ll know you are shopping at one of the best butchers in the UK. Further details and a members list can be found at www.qguild.co.uk
NFYFC is a rural youth organisation for those who have a love for agriculture and rural life. YFCs provide their members with opportunities to develop life skills, work with their local communities, have their voice heard, take part in a varied programme and provide a peer support and friendship network.
Glorious Game aims to help increase the appeal of this hugely underappreciated but delicious, lean and nutritious meat. Inspired by her upbringing in the Angus Glens, and her Grandmother, who was a wonderful cook, Sophie has always been obsessed with food but is only too aware that not everyone shares her passion for game, which is often over-looked, or disliked for no good reason.
