Game Pie
Makes 10 portions
Ingredients
Filling
- 80ml Rapeseed Oil
- 900g Mixed Game Meat
- 200g Minced Pork
- 400g Mushrooms sliced
- 250g Red Onions diced
- 20g Garlic Puree
- 2 litre Veg Stock
- 50ml Rice Vinegar
- 100g Gravy mix
Shortcrust Pastry
- 250g Plain flour
- 85ml Water
- 110g Margarine
Method
- Heat the oil in a pan and brown the mixed game. Add the Mince Pork
- Add the onions until starting to soften. Add the garlic, mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the stock.
- Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 40-50 minutes until the meat is tender.
- Thicken with gravy mix
- Heat the oven to 200⁰C/180C/Gas 6
- Put the meat mixture in a pie dish.
- Top with pastry and egg wash.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until browned.
