Edward Baker
Edward is the CEO of the Plymouth Fishing and Seafood Association (PFSA).
The purpose of the PFSA is to help Plymouth and other local fishing communities to thrive whilst protecting the marine environment for all. Edward’s aim is to increase the profile and desirability for local seafood by increasing the public’s understanding of the wide variety of healthy sustainable fish protein that is available on our doorstep. Edward has created the brand “Seafood Plymouth” and is using this to de-mystify fish, by providing instruction on cooking and preparing fish, great recipes and even offering angling sessions. The team at PFSA are taking this further by promoting local seafood in general across the UK.
Edward worked previously as the Principal Fisheries Manager for the Marine Management Organisation, he studied aquaculture science in New Zealand and has worked on various types of fishing vessel. He has an excellent knowledge of local fisheries and his desire is to ensure fish remains a sustainable and integral part of a healthy local, British diet.
