Fourth generation arable running to approximately 730 acres around the village of Hargrave. The farming practises at Bottom Farm revolve around integrated farm management and regenerative agriculture, creating healthy soils, with high environmental and conservation measures.


Additionally, they are Britain’s original ‘seed to bottle’ producer of Mellow Yellow cold pressed rapeseed oil, giving a genuine ‘field to plate’ view of food production.

Farrington Oils is the world’s first food company to be certified carbon and plastic neutral. They also have attained a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development

What we will see:


  • Walk to the rape-fields where Duncan will talk through LEAF and sustainable farming techniques (They are a LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) Marque producer
  • A look at the machinery and grain store
  • The factory (health and safety forms will be filled out on arrival, to go into the factory everyone must not wear any jewellery other than a wedding band, and no false nails), the field to fork process will be talked through in the factory.

  • Opportunities that NHS Supply Chain’s new Dynamic Procurement framework offer for sourcing from SMEs: Kirsten Morris, Head of Commercial, NHS Supply Chain: Food
