God save our gracious Queen! The nation is going to be making merry like never before with food a central part of everyone's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. See our ideas on what food to bring to your street party, lighting of the beacons, Big Lunch or family gathering. You may like to include dishes from the finalists in the school Cook for The Queen competition. Or make the new Diamond Jubilee Chicken which has been created specially for the Buckingham Palace concert. Whatever you are doing, put the Great into Britain with British food. You can't toast Her Majesty with anything else!

2. Inspiring Schools of the Month, May 2012
As Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall's competition inviting schools to create a special menu for The Queen approaches its grand finale at Buckingham Palace in June, the first round of judging has taken place.  16 schools have been selected from over 200 entries to go through to the next round where their menus will be judged by Mark Flanagan, Royal Chef at Buckingham Palace.  The top four winning schools will be invited to Buckingham Palace in June to see their recipes prepared by the Royal Chef and will help serve them at a special reception attended by The Queen and The Duchess of Cornwall.
